This section provides a summary of the procedures for applying for a Protection Order via iFAMS.

Before proceeding to apply for Protection Order via iFAMS, you should do the following:

  • Click here to check whether you qualify to apply for a Protection Order.
  • Prepare the documents which you need to submit during the application. The list of required documents can be found here.
  • Apply for a Singpass account if you do not have one as you need a Singpass ID to access iFAMS. You can register for one here provided that you are eligible for it.

 

Steps on Making a Protection Order Application through iFAMS:

Step 1: Accessing and Completing the Online Form

  • Have your SingPass ID and the required information, as mentioned above, relating to the person seeking the Protection Order on hand. 
  • Login to iFAMS and click “Protection Order Application” box.
  • Proceed to fill up the online form.
  • Save your work and choose whether you wish to attend at the FJC or an authorised agency (see below).
  • If you do not have Internet access, you can make the application with or without your SingPass ID at the FJC or a nearby authorised agency until further notice.

Step 2: Checking of Information Submitted

  • Attend at the FJC or the authorised agency to complete the application process.
  • Bring the requisite original documents for verification.  

Step 3: Counselling

  • At the FJC or the authorised agency, a counsellor may attend to you and provide you with the necessary information that you may require with regard to your safety.

Step 4: Completing the Application Process

  • Your application will thereafter be sent electronically to a Magistrate who will consider your application.
  • The Magistrate may, either in person or through video-conference, ask you questions in relation to your application.
  • If your application is in order, the Magistrate will issue a summons.
  • You will be given a Court date after payment is made.
