This section provides information about fees chargeable in Family Court proceedings.

 

Divorce

Fees chargeable in divorce proceedings begun by writ are provided for in the Second Schedule to the Women’s Charter (Matrimonial Proceedings) Rules (Cap 353, R 4, 2006 Rev Ed) .

Some basic fee items are:

Writ for divorce $42
Statement of claim $7
Statement of particulars $7
Entering any judgment or order $35
Certificate of making interim judgment final $14

Fees for applications and documents not specified in the Second Schedule are provided for in Appendix B to the Rules of Court (Cap 322, R 5, 2006 Rev Ed).

 

Other proceedings (except maintenance summonses and family violence cases)

Fees chargeable in proceedings commenced under legislation other than the Women’s Charter are provided for in Appendix B to the Rules of Court (Cap 322, R 5, 2006 Rev Ed).

 

Maintenance summonses and family violence cases

Fees chargeable in such cases are provided for by the Criminal Procedure Code (Cap 68) and the Fees (State Courts of Criminal Jurisdiction) Order (Cap 106, O 47, 1996 Rev Ed).

Some basic fee items are:

Issuance of summons $1
