Commissioner for Oaths


The Commissioner For Oaths (CFO) services will be closed, except for those who have fixed an appointment through the relevant Registries. Alternatively, deponents can approach private law firms providing CFO services as prescribed under Rule 8 of the Commissioner for Oaths Rules (Cap 322, Rule 3).

Commissioner for Oaths (CFO) at the Family Justice Courts (FJC) administers oath to an unrepresented deponent/declarant making an affidavit or statutory declaration for use in FJC legal proceedings only.

For non-English speaking deponents-in-person, we provide interpretation services for the following languages/dialects.

Chinese Language & Dialects      Mandarin, Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese and Hakka
Malay Language & Dialects Malay, Javanese and Boyanese
Indian Language Tamil

Deponents/declarants who require interpretation in a foreign language or language and dialect other than those listed above must engage and bring along a qualified Interpreter if they wish to have their affidavits and statutory declarations affirmed/sworn before the duty CFOs at the FJC.

Members of the public who require CFO services for both the FJC related matters and the non-FJC related matters can approach private law firms providing CFO services as prescribed under Rule 8 of the Commissioner for Oaths Rules (Cap. 322, Rule 3) . 

Generally, all CFOs charge a standard rate as prescribed under Part II of the Schedule in the Commissioner for Oaths Rules.
