Translation services are available for Court-related documents
to be used in the Family Justice Courts (FJC) legal proceedings in the four official languages, namely English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
The fee payable for a certified translation by an Interpreter of the Court is $45 per translated page.
The timeline for completion is at least four weeks or more, depending on the complexity of the documents. Applicants are requested to directly approach Counter 10 at the Registry located at level 1 of the FJC, 3 Havelock Square, Singapore 059725, to fill in the Translation Request Form (290 KB) and the Requisition for Impressed Stamps Form (63 KB)
, and to submit a copy of their source document for translation.
The officer at the counter will then inform the applicant that an assigned Interpreter/Translator will liaise with him/her via email.
The assigned Interpreter/Translator will follow up with the applicant concerning the confirmation of receiving the translation, rate of payment and the estimated collection date depending on the complexity of the document.
It is to be noted that the total translation fee will only be advised upon completion of the translation. The Interpreter/Translator after completing the translation would then email the applicant regarding actual payment and
collection date. On the date of collection, applicant is to make payment to the cashier before collecting the translation and source document.
Please note that in the event that the FJC’s Interpreters Section is unable to accept a translation request, parties and counsel should approach a private translation service instead
